- All activities last for 20 minutes.
- Activities must be booked in advance due to limited availability.
- Please advise us if your group has any additional needs.
- Activities £1 per pupil (Minimum fee £10 a session).
- All are linked to the National Curriculum for Key Stage 1, but can be tailored to suit older key stages if required.
SCHOOLS - Reception & KS1
- Animal Talks
Our animal talks are delivered in a fun, informative and hands-on manner. Choose between 3 different talk topics. Max. 20 pupils per session. Available term-time all year.
- Classification and Adaptation
An introduction to groups of animals, their adaptations & differences between them.
- Lifecycles
An opportunity for pupils to see first-hand examples of lifecycles in animals, growing to adulthood & producing offspring.
- Caring for Animals
Pupils will learn the similarities between human & animal health & welfare needs including diet, exercise & shelter.
- Nature Activities
Our nature based activities provide a hands-on introduction to our native wildlife. Choose between 2 activities. Max. 15 pupils per session. Subject to weather, season & environmental constraints. Available term-time April -September.
- Bug hunting
An introductory session allowing pupils to explore habitats in search of minibeasts, includes opportunities to undertake sweep netting, look under logs & identify their sightings using a worksheet.
- Pond life
An introduction to pond life. Pupils are able to dip the pond using nets, examine their catches using magnifying glasses & identify the pond life using charts & diagrams.
PRESCHOOLS & NURSERIES
- Craft Activity
We offer a craft based activity specifically designed for the youngest of our educational visitors. Available term-time all year. Max. 20 pupils per session.
- Animal Faces
Pupils will use a variety of craft materials to recreate an animal face they see around the farm, from butterflies and snakes to chickens and cows.
ANIMAL CARE COURSES

Our Staff
All educational activities are delivered by our friendly, experienced and knowledgeable staff. The centre is a registered farm member of LEAF Education formerly FACE (Farming and Countryside Education). These activities have been developed by CEVAS (Countryside Educational Visits Access Scheme) trained staff and all staff are DBS checked.
