The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has informed us that there have been a small number of reports of STEC (Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli) infection in children who attended the Rare Breeds Centre between late May and mid-June.

The farm has not been proven to be the source of these infections, however, in cooperation with UKHSA and Ashford Borough Council, we have voluntarily closed as a precaution while further investigations take place.

We plan to reopen on Saturday, July 20th and will use this opportunity to make improvements to our visitor experience ahead of the start of the summer holidays.
