The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has informed us that there have been a small number of reports of STEC (Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli) infection in children who attended the Rare Breeds Centre between late May and mid-June.
The farm has not been proven to be the source of these infections, however, in cooperation with UKHSA and Ashford Borough Council, we have voluntarily closed as a precaution while further investigations take place.
Our team has used this opportunity to make improvements to our visitor experience ahead of the start of the summer holidays.
