Chickens

Currenlty all our chickens are housed followed government guidelines to protect against the spread of avian flu.

Normally....When you come to visit the farm you won't be able to miss Big Bird. He is our colourful Brahma cockerel, who each morning wakes his neighbours the piglets, rabbits, goats, guinea pigs, hamsters, chicks and ferrets. Brahmas are a rare breed of poultry and were introduced into the UK around 1840-1850 from India. A huge, great soft lump, Big Bird happily stands for a stroke or a cuddle with anyone, and often goes for a walk amongst his adoring masses (or so he thinks). Give him a cuddle in the Childrens’ Barn! You’ll also find fluffy Sussex and Lavender Pekin chicks there too!
