Volunteering opportunities

We have some wonderful volunteers who do such valuable work, but we always need more help. Can you join us?

Do you have any time to spare? If you would like to be part of our amazing charity we’d love to talk to you about ways you could get involved by volunteering with us. We help with some travelling expenses and provide any training you may need.

Would you like a day out of the office? How about getting together with your colleagues for a team building day with us? There's always lots to do on our farm, and sometimes we need a few extra hands to get a job done. We promise to give you a fun day in return for your help!

Please contact our team for an informal chat on 01233 861519 or email [email protected]

Put your skills to good use

This is your invitation to make a long-lasting contribution to our charity, and have fun at the same time.

Could you spare a few hours volunteering for Canterbury Oast Trust? We need help with a range of activities from caring for animals at the Rare Breeds Centre, to helping with woodwork at our 24-acre Poulton Wood, lending a hand with computer, literacy and numeracy lessons for our residents at Harrington College in Aldington, and working in the Hitrade Charity shop in Sidcup.

We aim to tailor volunteers' interests to various roles, and we provide training where necessary. Whatever time you have to spare is appreciated, be it a weekday or a weekend.

It's a great chance to expand your own experience and abilities, and to make some great friends too.

Team opportunities for employers

Many teams have already helped us by building flower beds in our gardens, making benches, and doing general maintenance like painting, putting up fences and much more.

The projects provide many benefits, not only to the well- being of our residents, but to visitors and our volunteers. It is a fantastic and rewarding team-building exercise.

All each team member will need to bring is a pair of gloves and their wellies. We also ask that you cover the cost of refreshments on the day, and if you can make any contribution to materials that would also help enormously. All our corporate volunteers say they take back so much more than just memories of a great day, doing something worthwhile.

If you want to get involved, you can contact our team on 01233 861519 or e mail: [email protected]

Lesley Brisley, Ashford Borough Council says of her volunteering day:

"Just to say a big thank you. We had a wonderful day, despite the weather's valiant effort to cause havoc. It was lovely to think that we had done something which was of use to someone else. The work which is undertaken at the Rare Breeds Centre is amazing - we wish you every success. We might even be back!"
