The beetle is an order of insect known as 'Coleoptera' that constitutes 25 per cent of all life forms. The total number of species is generally thought to be one million.

The beetle is usually well armoured having a hard exo-skeleton made up of overlapping plates and hard forewings.

Beetles' bodies are divided into three sections: the head, the thorax and the abdomen.
