Species: Bearded Dragon (Pongona spp.)

Kane

Native  to  Australia,  the  Bearded  Dragon  can  be  found  in  dry, rocky  areas. They  are  excellent  climbers  and  will  often  bask  on branches  and  rocks  during  the  morning  and  evening,  but  at  the hottest  part  of  the  day  they  will  go  underground  to  escape  the heat. Adults  weigh  around  350-600g  and  grow  to  approximately 41-56cm  from  head  to  tail -  their  tail  accounting  for  over  half  the total  length. They are omnivores, so eat mainly fruit and vegetables, but can also eat   insects and very small mammals.
