Woodland Discovery Trails The Secret Lake is an artificial lake, created many years ago by the previous land owner, although the lake is at the top of the hill all of the water from surrounding fields drains into the lake and keeps it topped up all year round. Over the years the lake has colonised, first with plants and then with insects, some of which, like snails live on the plants. The Secret Lake is full of small fish Rudd and Roach, occasionally Cormorants visit the lake to feed on the fish and you may also see wild ducks and moorhens when you visit.
